About This Spot

Stepping up to Pearl Dragon Restaurant in Granby feels like discovering a quiet culinary refuge nestled in the heart of a small mountain town. Though the dining room no longer welcomes guests, the energy here pulses gently with the hum of a busy takeout spot, a steady rhythm that connects locals and visitors seeking comforting, thoughtfully prepared Asian flavors to carry with them on the go.

There's a certain warmth in seeing the familiar bustle behind the counter, a place where time slows just enough to invite you into the simple enjoyment of good food made well. The mood is unpretentious and steady, marked by friendly exchanges with staff who clearly take pride in the food they send out — even when the pace picks up during busy evenings or weekends.

What makes this experience quietly special is the way each order turns into a small gesture of care: from fragrant bowls of hot and sour or wonton soups that whisper of homemade tradition, to crispy, bright dishes with a subtle zing that linger pleasantly on the palate. Meals here often come wrapped in memories — shared around a campsite or hurriedly unpacked after a long day — carrying with them a feeling of familiar comfort and a touch of something a little more vibrant.

While the setting doesn’t invite lingering over a meal, Pearl Dragon offers a genuine, grounded connection through its food, one that reflects both its community’s tastes and the simple joys found in a well-made takeout meal. It’s a local staple where the atmosphere isn’t about fuss or formality, but about returning to flavors that feel thoughtfully crafted, dependable, and, above all, welcoming.

Like other reviews state please know this is TAKE OUT ONLY- my husband did not read the reviews and we had anticipated eating there, it’s a big place but the dinning room seem permanently closed. We ordered for a family of 5 so plan on 100+ bc each entree is around $20. Portions are decent and actually we were really yummy. I really enjoyed the hot and sour soup bc it had meat in it which I was not anticipating. Wait for our take out order was around 45 min and we arrived right when it opened at 5. Later we learned you can call in an order at 4:30 which I would highly suggest. When we left with our food they were quoting people 1 hour for orders. Very friendly staff overall a good experience esp for a mountain town/resort restaurant.

We had orange chicken from Pearl Dragon and it was absolutely amazing! It had pieces of orange peel and spicy peppers. They gave us plates and hand wipes, which helped as we were camping. I'll be going back every time I go fishing there.

TAKE OUT ONLY. Very good food. Understaffed so there can be a wait. Friendly and helpful staff

So. Guessing from the large 'for sale' sign on the building, together with the no longer in use dining room this place is on the verge of closing. A shame. Take away only, which we were not expecting (but was fine). Pricey! To the point we were hesitant to give it a try. Really glad we did - this is the best Chinese food in the country. Absolutely amazing. The teo people working - likely the entire staff - were wonderful. Friendly, very competant. Worth the price. Worth the take out only. Go there.

I will say this place is extremely good, but the only thing I would say that you would make a killing at a buffet take out! Pack a box for fifteen to 20 bucks a box and you would be set! Locals love this place!

2020-01 Party of 9 We got here at 730 pm on a Saturday night. We were able to park quickly. We were able to get seated right away with our party split up into 2 tables. The place was very busy and yet it was clean. The restrooms were clean and both the men's and women's restrooms has a single toilet. Our drink order was taken in about 5 minutes of settling in. Within a few minutes, our drinks came and our orders were taken. Our food came shortly. The calamari was a little bland. We ordered 7 main dishes. Soup came with each main dish. The food tasted ok. But the service was excellent! They were very attentive to our drinks and asks if we need anything else or if everything was ok. 1 appetizer, 7 main dishes, 2 extra rice, 1 soda, came to $177 (tip included) Bon appetit!
